Connected Apps & Collaboration Governance
MCP list_workbooks Pagination & Connected Apps Audit
Audit list_workbooks (<=100 cloud documents per page), why local browser-only workbooks require cloud collaboration before external MCP reads/writes, and OAuth revocation via Profile -> Connected apps.
Separate local browser-only sheets from cloud collaboration workbooks in connector discovery!
Look at the exact setup and discovery contract for external MCP integrations—including the Arte Sheets ChatGPT plugin 0.1.0, which has been implemented and submitted and currently remains In review / Not published (never promise public directory installation, approval timing, OpenAI revenue share, or ChatGPT credit transfer): (1) Authentication runs strictly via scoped external OAuth (never paste passwords, API keys, or tokens into chat), and users can inspect or revoke active grants anytime under Arte Sheets Profile -> Connected apps; (2) list_workbooks returns up to 100 cloud-saved documents per page (requiring cursor pagination when an account owns > 100 cloud workbooks), while local browser-only documents remain completely invisible to the connector until saved to the account, and range reads/writes (read_range, apply_changes, execute_steps) require cloud collaboration enabled on the workbook; and (3) ordinary MCP tool calls consume 0 Arte AI credits under a shared 120 calls/min per-account limiter (429 Retry-After: 60), whereas the in-app Pro Assistant works on both local and cloud workbooks and draws from the 2,000 monthly Pro AI credit grant!
Build a Discovery & Access Audit on Total_Account_Workbooks n_tot = 165 (B2), Local_Browser_Only_Workbooks n_loc = 25 (B3 -> Cloud-Saved Workbooks = 140 in E2), Cloud_Collab_Enabled_Flag f_col = 1 (B4, 1 = collaboration enabled on target workbook, 0 = not yet enabled), OAuth_Grant_Active_Flag f_oa = 1 (B5, 1 = connected, 0 = revoked in Profile -> Connected apps), and Page_Size_Cap = 100 (B6): Cloud Workbooks Visible to list_workbooks equal 165 - 25 = 140 (E2); Required list_workbooks Pages equal ROUNDUP(140 / 100, 0) = 2 pages (E3, consuming 2 of the 120 calls/min burst budget and 0 Arte AI credits); and Target Workbook Connector Readiness returns "Connector Ready: Cloud Collab & OAuth Active" (E5)! Revoke OAuth in Profile -> Connected apps (set B5 = 0) or test a local-only sheet (set B4 = 0) to verify deterministic remediation guidance!
| Connector Setup & Discovery Rule (Plugin 0.1.0 In Review / Not Published) | Verified Contract Limit | Baseline Audit Result |
|---|---|---|
| Visible Cloud Workbooks | n_tot - n_loc (Local Browser Sheets Excluded) | 140 Cloud Docs (25 Local Hidden) |
| list_workbooks Cursor Pages | ROUNDUP(Cloud_Docs / MIN(100, Page_Size), 0) | 2 Pages (<=100 / page, 0 AI Credits) |
| Range Read/Write Prerequisite | OAuth Active AND Cloud Collaboration Enabled | Connector Ready: Cloud Collab & OAuth Active |
| Grant Revocation Path | Profile -> Connected apps (Zero Chat Secrets) | Revocable Anytime; 120/min Burst Cap |

Guide users accurately: if f_oa = 0, reconnect via host OAuth (never share credentials in chat); if f_cl = 0, save the local workbook to the account and enable collaboration in Arte Sheets!
