Calculate win, loss, and tie totals (plus win % and league points)

Summarize raw match scores into Wins, Losses, Ties, Win Percentage, and 3-1-0 league points while ignoring unplayed fixtures.

Guard unplayed fixtures when comparing score columns

Comparing TeamScore = OppScore directly treats two blank future rows (0 = 0) as Ties! Multiplying each comparison by ISNUMBER(B2:B6) * ISNUMBER(C2:C6) inside SUMPRODUCT ensures only completed games are tallied.

Wins = TeamScore > OppScore; Losses = TeamScore < OppScore; Ties = TeamScore = OppScore (among played games). League points follow 3 * Wins + 1 * Ties, and the chosen half-credit-for-ties percentage equals (Wins + 0.5 * Ties) / GamesPlayed.

Fixture (A)TeamPts (B)OppPts (C)Result
Match 131Win (3 pts)
Match 222Tie (1 pt)
Match 301Loss (0 pts)
Match 442Win (3 pts)
Match 5(blank)(blank)Unplayed (ignored)

Wins, Ties, League Points, and Win % formulas

Across 4 played matches (2W-1L-1T), League Points = 7 and Win % = (2 + 0.5) / 4 = 0.625.

=SUMPRODUCT(ISNUMBER(B2:B6) * ISNUMBER(C2:C6) * (B2:B6 > C2:C6))

3-point-win league table total

Combines 3 points per win and 1 point per draw in a single formula.

=SUMPRODUCT(ISNUMBER(B2:B6) * ISNUMBER(C2:C6) * ((B2:B6 > C2:C6) * 3 + (B2:B6 = C2:C6) * 1))

Inputs and interpretation

The 3–1–0 points system and half-credit tie percentage are selected conventions, not universal league rules. Numeric scores do not by themselves prove a game is complete; use an explicit final-status field if live/in-progress games are recorded. Require nonnegative scores and clean errors before array comparisons. With no played games, the percentage is undefined and needs a denominator guard.
