Training, CPE, and volunteer hours requirement tracker (remaining & weekly pace)

Track a chosen hours target, capped progress and the average weekly pace needed over the remaining time.

Avoid negative "hours remaining" once a member exceeds their annual quota!

The example chooses a 40-hour target for demonstration. Actual training or continuing-education requirements vary by program and may include category, eligibility and reporting-period rules.

MAX(0,target-logged) shows no remaining shortfall after the target is reached. A capped progress bar can stop at 100%, while the underlying hours still show any excess.

The weekly pace divides remaining hours by the actual days remaining divided by seven. Do not clamp short deadlines to one week: with only three days left, that would understate the needed pace.

Use a positive target, numeric nonnegative eligible hours, and valid dates. Meeting the numerical target alone does not establish compliance with a professional program.

Zero-floored hours remaining and weekly completion pace formulas

MAX(0, ...) ensures over-achievers never cancel out another teammate's deficit when summing a department's remaining compliance hours!

=MAX(0, D2 - SUM(B2:B4))

Required weekly hours pace before compliance deadline

Returns zero when the target is met; otherwise a reached or expired deadline is flagged. This uses elapsed days between the two date boundaries.

=IF(MAX(0,D2-SUM(B2:B4))=0,0,IF(F2<=E2,"Deadline reached",ROUND(MAX(0,D2-SUM(B2:B4))/((F2-E2)/7),2)))
