TRANSPOSE function: rotate horizontal tables into vertical columns live
Flip a wide horizontal table into a vertical column layout with TRANSPOSE while keeping live formula links to the source cells.
Live TRANSPOSE formula vs static Paste Transpose
Paste Special -> Transpose creates a dead snapshot that falls out of sync as soon as source numbers change. TRANSPOSE(array) turns an R x C range into a live C x R dynamic array where row i, column j comes directly from column i, row j of the source.
| Jan (A) | Feb (B) | Mar (C) |

Verify flipped dimensions and live cell link
Transposing the 2-row by 3-column table A1:C2 creates a 3-row by 2-column vertical table: row 3, column 2 holds March's 180.
=INDEX(TRANSPOSE(A1:C2), 3, 2)Row and column counts swap cleanly
ROWS(TRANSPOSE(A1:C2)) equals 3 and COLUMNS(TRANSPOSE(A1:C2)) equals 2.
=ROWS(TRANSPOSE(A1:C2)) & "x" & COLUMNS(TRANSPOSE(A1:C2))Try the example
