TIMI UA/NSTEMI spreadsheet exercise with seven validated flags

Define the educational scope

This is the seven-item UA/NSTEMI score, not the separate STEMI score or a general self-triage tool for chest pain. The worksheet assumes fictional, already-assessed criteria; it cannot diagnose ACS or choose an invasive strategy.

The items cover age at least 65, at least three CAD risk factors, known coronary narrowing of at least 50%, aspirin in the previous seven days, at least two recent angina episodes within 24 hours, ST-segment deviation and an elevated cardiac marker. The study-group calculator gives the complete definitions.

Historical event rates describe the study population and a composite outcome. They are not an individual mortality prediction. A lower total does not exclude an acute problem. The example therefore reports the arithmetic total rather than generating management instructions or a mortality percentage.

Validate each binary input before summing

Numeric 0 means the assessed criterion is absent and 1 means present. Blank cells, text, fractions, negative values and values greater than one return Invalid inputs. The same guard applies to the secondary display.

Show a completed result only for complete valid inputs

All seven flags must be numeric zero or one. An omitted item is unknown, not false. This completion message confirms only data shape and arithmetic; it does not validate clinical assessment.
