Date & Time
Project midpoint date and % schedule time elapsed (calendar vs workdays)
Find a calendar-date midpoint and an inclusive workday schedule ratio.
Calendar halfway date vs Business-Day halfway date
Start+INT((End-Start)/2) selects the earlier calendar date when the exact midpoint falls at noon.
The workday ratio below counts the status date inclusively and clamps the result to the interval 0–1.
| Project Metric (2026-06-01 Mon to 2026-06-19 Fri) | Formula | Result |
|---|---|---|
| Calendar Span | =B2 - A2 | 18 calendar days |
| Calendar Midpoint Date | =A2 + INT((B2 - A2) / 2) | 2026-06-10 (Day 10) |
| Total Business Days | =NETWORKDAYS(A2, B2) | 15 workdays |
| % Time Burn as of 2026-06-05 Fri | =NETWORKDAYS(A2, C2) / 15 | 33.33% (5 of 15 workdays) |
Calendar-date midpoint
INT((End - Start) / 2) keeps the midpoint date a pure integer serial with no 12:00 PM half-day timestamp.
=TEXT(A2+INT((B2-A2)/2),"yyyy-mm-dd")Clamped % business days elapsed as of status date C2 (0% to 100%)
If StatusDate precedes StartDate, return 0; otherwise clamp completed workdays / total workdays at 1.00 (100%).
=IF(OR(B2<A2,NETWORKDAYS(A2,B2)<=0),"No valid workday span",ROUND(IF(C2 < A2, 0, MIN(1, NETWORKDAYS(A2, C2) / NETWORKDAYS(A2, B2))), 4))Inputs and interpretation
The calendar formula floors a half-day midpoint to the earlier calendar date. The elapsed-workday ratio includes the status date as a whole day; it is not intraday elapsed time or work completed. This example uses Monday–Friday and no holidays. A holiday-aware business midpoint must use the same holiday list in WORKDAY and NETWORKDAYS and a valid working-day anchor.
