Text & String Cleaning

Join Date and Text Without Raw Serial Numbers (TEXT "yyyy-mm-dd" Formula)

Embed formatted ISO dates and rounded invoice amounts cleanly inside dynamic text sentences using TEXT(date_cell, "yyyy-mm-dd") so concatenation never prints raw serial numbers like "Due on 46157".

Fix the classic "Invoice due on 46157" concatenation surprise!

Every spreadsheet user hits this surprise at least once: cell B3 displays a crisp date 2026-05-15, yet the moment you write ="Invoice " & B2 & " is due on " & B3, the cell prints "Invoice INV-804 is due on 46157"! Why? Because cell number formatting is purely visual skin—under the hood, 2026-05-15 is stored as integer day serial 46,157 since 1900, and the ampersand (&) operator reads the raw underlying value!

Wrapping the date cell inside TEXT(B3, "yyyy-mm-dd") converts the serial number into an unambiguous ISO-8601 date string BEFORE concatenation, and rounding numeric amounts via ROUND(B4, 2) prevents ugly IEEE-754 floating-point tails like "$149.90000000000003" from leaking into automated email subjects, chart subtitles, or dunning notices!

Dynamic Invoice Payment Notice Joining ID, Amount & ISO Date

Validates non-empty ID and date, then embeds ROUND(B4, 2) and TEXT(B3, "yyyy-mm-dd") inside a clean sentence.

=IF(OR(B2 = "", B3 <= 0, B4 < 0), "Missing Notice Fields", "Invoice " & B2 & " ($" & ROUND(B4, 2) & ") due " & TEXT(B3, "yyyy-mm-dd"))

Dynamic Report Period Subtitle ("Period: YYYY-MM-DD to YYYY-MM-DD")

Builds an automatic dashboard header from start date B3 and end-of-month EOMONTH(B3, 0).

=IF(B3 <= 0, "Missing Date", "Period: " & TEXT(B3, "yyyy-mm-dd") & " to " & TEXT(EOMONTH(B3, 0), "yyyy-mm-dd"))
