Date & Time
Get fiscal quarter and fiscal year from a date (any start month)
Convert transaction dates into calendar quarters (Q1–Q4) or shifted fiscal quarters and fiscal years (April, July, or October starts).
Shift month numbers modularly around FiscalStartMonth
For standard January-start calendar quarters, ROUNDUP(MONTH(date) / 3, 0) maps months 1–12 cleanly onto quarters 1–4.
For a fiscal year starting in month StartMonth, MOD shifts that month to position zero and INT(.../3)+1 gives quarters 1–4. When naming the year by its ending calendar year, increment YEAR(date) only if StartMonth is later than January and the date is on or after that start month.
Require an integer start month from 1 through 12. This models calendar-month quarters, not 4-4-5 or week-based retail calendars. January-start years retain the current calendar year.

Parameterized fiscal quarter and fiscal year formulas
Referencing FiscalStartMonth in B2 lets finance teams test April (4), July (7), or October (10) calendars without rewriting CHOOSE lookup tables.

February 2026 falls before an April start (4), so it belongs to FQ4 of FY2026.
