By the 1959 International Yard and Pound Agreement, four conversion factors are EXACT by legal definition (not rounded estimates!): 1 inch = 2.54 cm exactly, 1 foot = 0.3048 meters exactly, 1 mile = 1.609344 km exactly, and 1 pound (lb) = 0.45359237 kg exactly.
Multiply or divide by the defined factors, then round only the displayed result when possible.
