Arte Sheets AI Voice & Multi-Step Commands: WebRTC Sessions & 10-Step Execution Budgets

Combine spoken WebRTC voice commands (up to 3 minutes per call with native barge-in) and multi-step workbook plans (up to 10 ordered steps, 100 edited cells, and 20 row/column edits) safely in Arte Sheets.

How WebRTC Voice Sessions and execute_steps keep spoken multi-step edits deterministic and auditable!

In Arte Sheets, clicking Microphone in the AI Assistant opens a direct WebRTC audio session (with browser echo cancellation, noise suppression, auto-gain control, semantic voice-activity detection, and native barge-in) lasting up to 3 minutes per call, while metered credit accounting stays strictly on the server (requiring an eligible plan and verified email). Whenever workbook cells change, the assistant refreshes its bounded selection context automatically and checks workbook/sheet version snapshots so stale plans never overwrite concurrent edits!

When a spoken or typed prompt chains multiple actions — for example, creating a summary sheet, populating header formulas, formatting totals, and adding a column chart — execute_steps validates 1 to 10 ordered steps with a combined budget of at most 100 edited cells and at most 20 inserted or deleted rows/columns total (excluding share_document, which is always prepared separately as an owner-confirmed invitation card). If step k fails validation, execution stops immediately at step k while steps 1..(k - 1) remain intact, and the voice assistant reports the exact application status honestly in one concise sentence!

WebRTC Voice Session DurationUp to 3 minutes per call (15 s server heartbeat)Cleanly ends with status message; press Microphone to start a new call
Ordered Steps in execute_steps1 to 10 steps (share_document excluded)Stops at first failed step; earlier completed steps remain
Cumulative Cell Edits Across Steps<= 100 unique edited cells total (<= 2,000 chars/value)Exceeding 100 cells rejects the multi-step plan before execution
Cumulative Row / Column Insert or Delete<= 20 rows/columns total (1-based index, delete only if requested)Blocked in viewer, suggester, Suggest-mode, or protected sheets
