Add Workdays on a 6-Day (Mon–Sat) Custom Workweek (Skipping Sundays)
Calculate exact delivery, construction, or retail SLA deadlines on a 6-day Monday–Saturday schedule (skipping Sundays only) using universal closed-form weekday arithmetic A2 + B2 + INT((MOD(WEEKDAY(A2, 2), 7) + B2 - 1) / 6).
Schedule 6-day Mon–Sat delivery and construction SLAs accurately!
Standard WORKDAY(start_date, days) hardcodes a 5-day Monday–Friday office week—skipping BOTH Saturday and Sunday! Yet parcel carriers, construction crews, manufacturing plants, and retail clinics frequently operate a 6-day Monday–Saturday workweek where Saturday IS a working day and ONLY Sunday is closed!
You can compute exact Monday–Saturday workday deadlines in closed form across EVERY spreadsheet engine using WEEKDAY(Start, 2) (where Monday = 1 .. Saturday = 6, Sunday = 7): wrapping MOD(WEEKDAY(B2, 2), 7) maps Monday..Saturday to 1..6 and Sunday to 0, so INT((MOD(WEEKDAY(B2, 2), 7) + C2 - 1) / 6) counts the exact number of Sundays crossed when advancing C2 >= 1 working days! Adding +5 Mon–Sat workdays to Friday 2026-10-30 works Saturday Oct 31 (Day 1), skips Sunday Nov 1, and works Mon–Thu to finish on Thursday 2026-11-05!
| Start Date (B2) | Mon–Sat Workdays Added (C2) | Sundays Crossed | Completion Date |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2026-10-30 (Friday) | +5 workdays | 1 Sunday (Nov 1) | 2026-11-05 (Thursday) |
| 2026-10-30 (Friday) | +1 workday | 0 Sundays (Saturday counts!) | 2026-10-31 (Saturday) |
| 2026-11-01 (Sunday) | +6 workdays | Starts Mon Nov 2 -> Sat Nov 7 | 2026-11-07 (Saturday) |
Add N >= 1 Mon–Sat Workdays (Skipping Sundays Only, ISO yyyy-mm-dd)
Adds C2 workdays plus INT((MOD(WEEKDAY(B2, 2), 7) + C2 - 1) / 6) crossed Sundays, returning B2 unchanged when C2 = 0.
=IF(C2 < 0, "Use Non-Negative Workdays", IF(C2 = 0, TEXT(B2, "yyyy-mm-dd"), TEXT(B2 + C2 + INT((MOD(WEEKDAY(B2, 2), 7) + C2 - 1) / 6), "yyyy-mm-dd")))Number of Sundays Crossed During the 6-Day SLA Window
Isolates the exact count of non-working Sundays skipped between B2 and the completion date.
=IF(C2 <= 0, 0, INT((MOD(WEEKDAY(B2, 2), 7) + C2 - 1) / 6))Try the example
