Accounts receivable aging buckets: classify invoices into Current, 1-30, 31-60, 61-90, and 90+
Assign standard AR aging bands with ordered IFS thresholds and summarize dollar exposure per bucket with SUMIF.
Order IFS cutoffs strictly from lowest to highest
Because IFS evaluates conditions left-to-right and stops at the first TRUE test, ordering cutoffs <= 0 ("Current"), <= 30 ("1-30 Days"), <= 60 ("31-60 Days"), <= 90 ("61-90 Days"), and TRUE ("91+ Days") eliminates redundant AND(Days>30, Days<=60) clutter and prevents boundary gaps at 30 or 60 days.
| Invoice (A) | DaysPastDue (B) | Amount (C) | Bucket (D) |
|---|---|---|---|
| INV-01 | -4 | 500 | Current |
| INV-02 | 18 | 1200 | 1-30 Days |
| INV-03 | 30 | 800 | 1-30 Days (exact boundary) |
| INV-04 | 95 | 2100 | 91+ Days |
Assign bucket label and check exact 30-day boundary
An invoice 30 days past due satisfies B4<=30 and lands cleanly in "1-30 Days" ($1,200 + $800 = $2,000 bucket exposure).

Once Column D holds the bucket formula, SUMIF(D2:D5, "1-30 Days", C2:C5) totals all 1-30 day receivables.
